This has been a very busy year; I am really sorry I don’t have time to send out more newsletters through the year. As most of you are aware, my time is divided between the Hotel and school which means during the season we are busy with the work. I cannot emphasise enough how very much we appreciate your support; without it we would not be able to continue our work.
This year has been even more hectic with the building of the new school. If can recall, in my last newsletter we spoke about embarking on building a new secondary school so we could continue all the children’s education up to grade 9 (16 years old) which would allow them to take whichever path suited to them, be it academic or through a skills centre.
Our dear friend and sponsor Chris Bialan purchased a piece of land which is on the high road and just 5 minutes’ walk from our current school. Last year we were looking to raise funds to build the new school to the tune of £250,000. The land he bought
already had a single-story building which was quite a considerable size plus there were 2 other smaller buildings on the site.
