After our discussion with Kodou’s sponsor (Chris Bialan), about why the children were not continuing their education at Jofi?

It was only at this point that Chris revealed that he was the CEO of Affinity Homes and was ready to help in every way he could to provide a better future for the children.

Chris asked Julie to make a list:

  • Red being the most urgent
  • Amber being a wish to do list
  • Green being the 5-year plan.

RED LIST

NO 1: The lovely Chromebooks were being moved from class to class which put them at risk of being damaged, so a dedicated IT room was required whereby the children could go to use them.

NO 2: BOREHOLE; Water supply is so bad sometimes there is no water for 3 days at a time, even with a 2000 litre tank the school runs out with all the cleaning that it needs.

NO 3: Develop good Physical Education and Art classes, invest in new equipment and
resources as part of the children’s development plan.

Since January 2023, Chris has kindly funded the red list which has now been completed including a new IT room and Science room. Chris also bought another 4 Chrome books
making 16, giving us enough for all the class to work comfortably.

AMBER LIST

WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO GRADE 6 IN SEPTEMBER WHEN THEY ARE DUE TO LEAVE JOFI?

The best solution was decided between Chris and Julie to buy some land to build the High
School. That has now been purchased by Chris.
